Food Restrictions:
Here at Hanazen Restaurant we prepare gourmet Japanese sushi using the highest quality ingredients, employing preparation methods and traditional recipes that go back hundreds of years.
We proudly serve Edomae-Sushi traditional Japanese Sushi.

In most instances, we may not be able to accommodate requests to modify our traditional recipes to fit special dietary restrictions such as no raw seafood.
In addition we cannot accommodate requests to make vegan sushi.
If you have any other food sensitivities or dietary restrictions, please inform us when making your reservation and we can discuss what may be possible, or what will not be possible.
This will ensure that everyone in your party has the most pleasant dining experience.

We do not allow outside beverages or other ingredients to be brought into, or served in Hanazen Restaurant.
This includes, but is not limited to wines, beer, alcohol, specialty salts, spices, etc.

We do on occasion allow for specialty desserts such as small birthday cakes, or anniversary cakes.
Please inform us at the time of your reservation if this is a special occasion and what type of specialty dessert item you are bringing, and we will assist you in incorporating it into your dining experience.

Here at Hanazen Restaurant we consider the savory aroma of our food together with the subtle delicacy of our sake to be an essential part of the dining experience.
Strong fragrances, such as perfumes, aftershaves, and colognes can easily over power the delicate aromas of not just our food, but can easily disturb other guests.
We kindly ask that you do not wear excessive perfumes, colognes, after shaves, or excessive scents of any kind.
This restaurant is quite small, and we appreciate the cooperation and understanding of all our guests.

Reservation and Seating:
Hanazen is an advance reservation only restaurant. This restaurant is small and the seating is very limited. There is only the two of us to run this restaurant, so we must limit the number of diners we can serve at one time. We cannot guarantee seating in the restaurant or at the sushi bar.
As an advance reservation only restaurant, utilizing a reservation only system allows us to ensure that we have enough time to devote to each customer and give them the attention they deserve.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.

Phone Call Reservation/ToGo order Only:
Please note that reservations/ToGo orders can only be made and confirmed by calling 925-254-3611* and speaking directly to Coco or Kenji.
We are unable to accommodate walk in customers or same day reservations/ToGo orders.
*We are often too busy to answer our phones during our regular business hours, so when we are busy we ask that you try calling for reservations between the hours of 2:00 PM and 5:00 PM Tuesday thru Saturday.

For weekend reservation/ToGo we suggest calling to make your reservation/ToGo as soon as possible.
For Tuesday, Wednesday, reservations/ToGo orders, we suggest calling at least 3 days in advance.
When calling with less than the suggested amount of time, we will try our best to accommodate your request but no guarantee can be given.

Any change or cancellation to your reservation/ToGo orders must be made by calling Hanazen at the phone number above at least 2 business days before your reservation and speaking directly to Coco or Kenji. E-mail will not be accepted for making or canceling reservations/ToGo orders.
If you needed we will call you the day before your reservation/ToGo orders to confirm that you are still coming for dinner or Pick up for your ToGo.

We will also ask for your credit card information in order to secure your reservation/ToGo orders. If we cannot secure the reservation/ToGo orders with your credit card, the reservation/ToGo orders will not be guaranteed.

Once your reservation/ToGo orders has been secured by your credit card we will hold your reservation/ToGo orders until 10 minutes after your scheduled reservation/ToGo pick-up time.
After 10 minutes, in the event that we are unable to reach you, we will cancel your reservation/ToGo orders and charge the cancellation fee.

It is important that, if you expect to be delayed longer than 10 minutes after your reservation time or your ToGo pick-up time, you call us and let us know when you will arrive.
You are subject to a cancellation fee of $70.00 per person in case of a same-day cancellation or no-show your reservation/your ToGo pick-up.
Please also be advised that any change to the number of persons in your reservation/ToGo orders made within 24 hours of your reservation time/ToGo pick up time will result in a charge of $70.00 for each person removed from your reservation/ToGo orders.

Dress Code:
HANAZEN strives to provide a comfortable atmosphere where all our customers can have a pleasant dining experience.

For both ladies and gentlemen, the following items are examples of unacceptable attire:
•  Flip-flops, or slippers;
•  Gym/athletic workout clothes, or athletic material shorts;
•  Clothing with offensive graphics or language; and
•  Any article of jewelry or clothing with symbols, words and slogans that promote violence, racism or hate, as well as with vulgar language or sexually explicit images, or anything designed to make other guests feel uncomfortable.

For gentlemen:
•  Please wear closed toe shoes and shirts with sleeves (therefore, any sleeveless shirts, such as tank tops or muscle tees, are not considered appropriate). 

For ladies:
•  Evening wear attire should cover the torso in a manner appropriate with dining at a nice restaurant (therefore, halter tops, tube tops and similar attire, are not allowed).

In addition, we kindly ask all guests to remove their hats when entering.
Following these guidelines will ensure that all our patrons enjoy their dining experience and have a comfortable evening while dining at HANAZEN.
